Matters not in dispute

In the booklet "Innocent" under the heading "Matters not in Dispute"Karam writes

David Bain did do his paper-round that morning in normal fashion, and he arrived home at his gate no earlier than 6.45 am.

What a statement to make. Was it normal for Bain to go out of his way to make himself heard?Quite a number of people who heard their papers being delivered that morning said he was earlier than usual. And "no earlier than 6.45".Definitely in dispute. In fact, only one person suggests she saw him at that time, and her car clock was fast and most unreliable.Tania Clark said she saw him at Heath Street before 6.40,and Bain himself said it would take him around 2/3 minutes to get home from there.
